’Murmur romance, most delicate heart! |

’Murmur romance, most delicate heart! Breathe unto the harp a lovers hum Surrender to the ‘mid summer beats-- Ere bees caress thy flowers in the garden. Like the queen thou hath sank unto shade, Awaiting the weary traveller from afar O’er mountains I hath came down the distant shores-- Trimming dangerous verses of passions tongue. But O! how oft wilt the touch be numb, ’tis the fluttering of butterflies So feverish hath I become upon thy tendered fingertips-- Lulled by the prolonged ecstasy. To sleep and dream of none but thee, Fallen are the stars upon the roots of memories Whose dew doth stir the ripples in my sea-- ’tis soothing rocking to and fro out in the oceans flare. Haboured on the lover’s breast caressing like the bees, A hasty retreat towards thine eyes doth lace the awe struck face into that of mine-- ’tis the kiss upon the mouth that passion breathes toward thy soul. And think thou hath learnt this passing lore, Time and time before on others mouths thy kiss hath strayed And lakes of fire doth water unto my soul-- Those ancient memories of regretful rejection. And beneath the clouds I hath walked many days, Which image places me above them amongst the stars ’tis thought alone I hath walked them topside-- and thee wilt linger on my everlasting poetic words. ’Murmur romance, most delicate heart! Breathe unto the harp a lovers hum ’tis this place I wilt call home-- Ere I caress thee in our own little garden. |
