Slowly dawn creeps in
bringing with it, new day
shining so brightly the sun
in glorious amber rays
while a cozy blanket
of pure golden warmth
spreads it's beautiful light
over the sleeping earth.

Life continues on
from morning till night
settling into sweet slumber
under sparkling starlight
a blanket of moonlight
covers the  evening skies
creating visions of beauty
to greet on looking eyes.

In the course of one day
many things come to pass
from a new born baby’s cry

to sounds of shattering glass,

My mind does ponder
as I drift off to sleep
how there can be so much joy

yet still, so many must weep.

In circles we turn
spinning around and around
searching for answers
with some,     never to be found.

I look out upon the skies
to vast horizons, so blue
if I had just one wish, I'd wish
that this would come true;

may peace be woven into this blanket
that covers this earth, each day
during each cycle of night, turning to light
may that blanket, never, ever fray

and may it never again, go away.

oh, this day here in PA is all you have described here, this was beautifully articulated...did you see the sky last night, full of rosy-pink waves of mauve pastels...gorgeous...both nature and your poem.

That was so awesome...
Although, happiness and sorrow exist
on both sides of the blanket...
I am left hoping that only the sorrowful
side frays...

balance of good vs. evil

how there can be so much joy

yet still, so many must weep.

very nicely done, I may add.

Oh, Gentle Spirit, how I wrapped myself in all these gentle-spirited blankets and wished and prayed with you that very beautiful Gentle Spirit wish that drew my tears and smiles.
