No sooner have I seized the day, when...
Another year is lost.
A few more turns and my road shall reach its end.
I have come into the season
of golden leaves and frost ;
Chasing promises of Spring, upon the wind.

Near journey's end,with but jaunt remaining,
I have cherished every turn ;
Victory in woe, for ALL held its' treasure ;
Gleaning for all meaning...
Seeking lessons I may learn...
For 'tis learning by which depth of life is measured.

I have learned... In daily travel,
on no matter where the street...
Should the people pause and they or I draw nearer...
Each of us lie 'neath the surface
within everyone we meet ;
The joining, is but to gaze within a mirror.

Though most of my path lies behind me,
Its end is not a dreaded thing ;
For this dry cocoon which binds me,
Yields to new-birth in the Spring.

A sealed and sacred promise,
That each and all life carries ;
A sign that all is movement, not an end.
I have found contentment,
Whether trail should fade or tarry...
Chasing promises of Spring upon the wind.
