Here he comes ... I loathe him so...
His manner, so unkept !
His soiled, tattered, wrinkled rags...
in which, I'm sure he slept !
It seems he hasn't a single care...
He shuffles lazily down the lane.
It's certain he has no self respect...
and likely...little brain !
Come !   See the sordid wretch ...
who stands beneath our ivory tower !
Surely, a bath would not suffice...
He'd likely need to scour !
Yet... He always seems so...  cheerful
Always lifts a greeting hand.
I find it most amazing !
For, such a life... I could not stand !
Days...filled with time and leisure...
Nothing to do, but ... muse ...
No pressure... no meeting expectations...
Just...Do as one may choose...
No fear of theives that lurk by night ...
No clutching at the ring ...
He loafes about, with a constant smile...
and, I often hear him sing.
Below...he pauses...everyday...
and smells the flowers on the trellis.
I wish he'd hasten on his way !
My God !
I think I'm jealous !

Nicely done!

Bums/tramps/hobos have recently been a "theme" around here...LOL

And you've painted quite a portrait of both subject and writer.

(a "thank you" for your kind replies to my scribbling, but dont look too deeply into the archives. literally everything I've written dwells there, and I fear nearly all of it is abominable)
