When Cupid Lost His Wings It was a day in Feburary I remember well A day that’s clear, here, in my mind The day that cupid fell Now that chubby, little cherub boy Was playing with my mind Shooting arrows here and there In hopes my love he’d find He was working over time Yes, he was on a roll But all that flapping of his wings Was bound to take it’s toll I was getting so confused Arrows flying left and right By the time the clock struck 9 PM I was on date three that night First was charming Balladeer A gentle man of course And Christopher who played the knight And rode in on his horse The final one was Toerag Who knocked upon my door I looked outside to see him there And thought, “Oh no, no more” I opened up the door to see Him smiling there at me And in his hands a bunch of flowers Which around them buzzed a bee “Look out I said!” a bit too late As the bee began to land Upon Toerag who unaware Took a swat with his bare hand The bee became so angry It bit him on the rear And Toerag in hasty escape Threw the flowers in the air Poor old cupid flying high With duty on his mind Was busy taking careful aim To all else he was blind The flowers hit his tired wings And threw them all off beat He lost his balance in the sky To land at Toerag’s feet His wings were broken, his bow was bent There were tears, there, in his eye From angel status he had gone To just a naked guy He hid his full embarrassment Among some other things Oh it wasn’t a very pretty site When cupid lost his wings Happy Valentines Day Dear Friends  Ruth I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten,but I've loved another with all my heart and soul,and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S |
