Listening to every heart

0 posted 2006-02-14 12:18 PM

Quick Dust

Scuffing his toe boot into
the fine red clay, shifting dust up
into the wind,
a humph of heart darting
somewhere to find
a warm chocolate taste
again…

then an expletive escaping,

Travis looked over at Konrad….

“What?”

“I miss ‘em both.”

When wind scuffled maple leaves left to play
in time what was to come, as one needs what one
can’t have, them words were uttered,

“Which one, the most?”

“Each, for their own being.”

Clenching chin to lip,
Travis nodded.

Then nodded again.

“Yep.”

Both turned,
one heading south, the other,
west, to find a find

like Iambe, and Dana…

if only in memory.

Sunshine...Enjoyed very very much. Great poem in the continuing story.

Over the mountains
we know not what lies there
another challenge
another dare
another love someone to care

Across the sea
beyond the distant shore
A dream is calling calling
me on the wind of tomorrow
this I can't ignore

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~

I love this, toe scuffing, dust blowing and settling over empty places in the heart, without much ado, but moving like wind through cavernous spaces.

Awesome Valentine's Day echo of the heart.

YOu didn't see me, but I have been following behind you this week...gathering gems into the treasure chest of my favorite Sunshine poems.  Enjoyed every drop of this.
