Dare

I dare not dream
I dare not hope
I dare not count
I cannot cope

But dreams will come in depths of night
And with your arms holding me tight
I’m all that I could ever be
Content with simply being me
I rule the world, soar through the skies
But then I wake and my dream dies

I dare not dream
I dare not hope
I dare not count
I cannot cope

But hope persists in spite of all
I spread my wings, fearful I’ll fall
But I’m driven to take that chance,
To make my leap, to live, to dance
Against all odds I still believe
Who am I trying to deceive?

I dare not dream
I dare not hope
I dare not count
I cannot cope

But counting gets me through the days
I think of you and all the ways
I would love you if fates allowed
If distance didn’t have me cowed
Though time is often cruel to plans
I count each speck of settling sand.

I dare not dream
I dare not hope
I dare not count
I cannot cope

So many things I should not do
But I must breathe and loving you
Is in my cells, part of each breath
My destiny - And even death
Won’t stop my heart from being yours
No matter what there’s to endure.

So I must dream
And I must hope
Counting on you
Is how I cope

"Dreams can be magic
If the truth is what you seek
Open up your heart
And you'll be forever free
When you dream"

DearestFriend~

'.. I must dream
... I must hope
Counting on you
Is how I cope'

Oh yes ... I've been 'counting' too~
Those restless sheep are getting tired of jumping over my dreamless fence~

This is beautiful, Laura. I know your biggest counting right now, doesn't have happiness at the end of it, but I wish that somehow it could.
