Across the street wait television crews
Hoping a bit of exclusive news
Will come to them
Reward their lurk
Give some purpose to their day

Across the street wait angry souls
Who saw their hopes for a future fold
In a house of cards
That went down hard
For justice, they now pray

Across the street wait the accused
They gained so much, now stand to lose
All that and more
A jailhouse door
Waits too, to their dismay

And I?
I wait
For lunch

I love these lines, it just sums up the news media. Wonderful writing

We all seem to be waiting for something whilst others wait for love, a taxi, or lunch, we still all wait for something to occur.

..."Who saw their hopes for a future fold

~ A far too common scenario that you portrayed very well.

Ka-RUNCH!

Beautifully done, dear lady...you have exquisite timing! You paint the scene beautifully, build the atmosphere to a crescendo, then....knock it all sideways with four little words... I'm a fool for poetry that does that!
