LONGING
20 June 1982

Terror maddens the hearts
Of a buck
And a man
In havens they see as
Hell.
The buck in hers, climbs walls -
The man in his screams
And brandishes a knife -
They flee the happiness they fear
And condemn themselves
To the Hell they crave.

May the winter sun
And the cry of the hadedah
High overhead in an empty sky
Bring three crumbling hearts
An interlude of peace.
