Dawn gives hope for a brand new day,
Leading the sunlight to share its ray
To the lonely flower or the blossoming tree
To the sad at heart or the careless and free.
It shows no bias when casting its face
In a small, dark corner or the loftiest place.
Its span reaches further than eye can tell
From over the mountains and past the dell.
Tranquil and silent moving into its role
As the one who welcomes the day to toll.
This dawn does not torment or demand
It has one purpose, to welcome the man
To this new day, he has yet to live
And hope to his dreams it now can give.
But if you miss the dawn today, do not sorrow
For in this same manner shall it come on the morrow!

I was drawn to this for very personal reasons... my first (and for many years ONLY *G*) published poem shared your title. *S* I was 13... *sigh*... so believe me... yours is better. *S*

Welcome to Passions... I look forward to reading more of your work! *S*

I'm sure yours was lovely!!!  I'd love to read it!  I can't imagine having something I wrote from back in those early years published!  It must have been quite a piece!
About my poem...I have missed so many dawns lately... I have to really motivate myself to get up on these dark, cold days... :/  And many times it's the only time you see the sun before it hides behind the clouds... maybe someday I'll move to Hawaii, ha, ha!
