'Love is proximity'
she'd say
nails stroking over
taught skin teasing
waiting
for life to flow back

self-pleased at her faculty
for draining it
she smiled petite kisses
across his chest

'Soul mates --
no such thing'
the student of sociology
rendered the notion
obsolete
'the heart is
merely victim of
geography'

'If I hadn't known you
since I was born --
if we hadn't lived
close enough to
Fall -- we'd never
have loved like
this'
she whispered nose buried
in his neck

Looking back
he thinks about it
and supposes she was
right:
--if there was a kind God
who made
Soul Mates
he certainly would
put them
where they could
find each other

--eh?

OK, wait...does this mean that Stephen Stills and god are the same thing?

Sounds reasonable to me, Reb.  Thanks!

'the heart is
merely victim of
geography'

I took that differently than intended, but in either context, I gotta remember that.

I understand that Stephen Stills believes that he is...

I remember this one as one of faves, Reb.

Made me miss your posts, too. HINT

That would certainly be logical... but... I think He enjoys watching the show... a kind of universal Easter egg hunt where there's fewer eggs than searchers? *S*

Of course... that could just be sour grapes. LOL

Enjoyed this, nephew mine... It's good to see you posting! *S*

I'm new here, so this is a first time for me, reading your writing.  I really liked this.... can relate in a way. I do believe in soul mates, and mine was born half a world apart from me... and we found each other.  I'd say it's God. Some disagree.  I'm just glad we're together!

I remember this one.

It's one of my favorites that you've written (among many, verily). =)

Thank you for re-posting this.
