Forever In Your Heart

Here comes the night,
and all that is in it,
If love were money,
I have went and all
but spent it.

Oh, my heart did leap,
across the tender, white,
lilly fields of innocent
youth.

But died in the harshness,
of winters cold words,
that stung, freezing,
my heart solid.

So, I lay in slow decay,
a fossil of what was,
is, but now has vanished,

Crumbled ashes,
is all that remains,
For love doesn't live here,
anymore.

J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.”

Despite such a tender, heartfelt write...I do not believe it for a moment, ARH.
