In silent mode I still can know
love paves a better road
though the camber has a likewise tilt
and the verges look the same
as each and every thoroughfare
laid down towards the grave.

There comes a time for silent things
like the yearn of love’s embrace
and the wish to see new seedlings
sprout above the soul level
and stretch up and out still further
into the feel and touch
of the now perceived alive.

And in the silent spaces
between daylight and a dream
there remains within the senses
a green leaf of belief
strong and healthy, vibrant,
and able to survive
the drought and floods and strife
of my now human life.

In silent mode the tiller tills
and the dreamer thrills
because eventually a harvest
somewhere along love’s road!

Absolutely stunning, Helen!  May you have a full harvest, my friend!   ...jo

Thank you, Jo, but let's not forget that harvests come in many disguises - I would not like to ever forget that ... while travelling.     Take care!

Thanks RedStone.  When the heart writes it leads me on a journey of discovery but, of course, I've always known.

Profound beauty in this write, but especially the last verse.
Enjoyed the insight you have displayed in this.

My thanks to The Lady and to you, JL, for reading and for commenting.  There's so much to hear when in silent mode that I sometimes wonder why so many people ... refuse to go there.
