And when they came
To understand
That their ship
Was finally going down
Taking all

Who then pined
For loves gone wrong
On their way
To Great Death’s rendezvous

Who did not wish
Though still alone
To live
As yet to see the stars

To feel the air
Embrace their lungs
If only
For another hour

This picture Is clearly seen.  I was in the Navy and with the war going on, this poem hits home for me.  We will also never forget the Titanic which this poem reminds me of.

Something we all take for granted... and even beyond that, something so many of us even wish away. Living is good, not easy, but good. And we should all hold on to the next hour.
Ack. Please forgive this horribly cliche reply to such a great poem. I think it's just my mood or something...

Always, Alyssa

Hupomeno.

If only for another hour

It was as if you could throw away the rest of the poem and one line said it all

a poet who cares
