Hush of Early Morn
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

In the hush of early morn,
I listen to the hum and rhythmic cadence
of a hidden world.

The sighing of trees, as they breathe in
the sweet spring air, is music for my soul
~as is the soft fluttering of butterflies
as they go winging by.

Bluebells ring throughout the gardens,
where flowers are thirstily drinking up
the revitalizing morning dew.
In the stillness of these waking hours,
I am soothed by the whisperings
of pussy-willows as a gentle breeze
soughs through them.
The chirp of an early rising robin,
fills me with song and lifts my spirits high.

Sounds that are seemingly inaudible,
during the hubbub of busy days,
are soothing and kiss my senses
in the tranquility of these dawning hours.

As the sun peeks over the horizon,
I am comforted by the murmurings of
a waking world as it rises to greet
yet another new day.

“We are born of star dust,
And to the stars we shall one day return.”
~ Linda L. Dowd

Lovely Linda,
This is just beautiful and reminded me Spring
cannot be too too far away.
Especially on a day like today.
Stay warm~Hugs, Nancy

Very nice, Linda.
I thought at one time that the robins all went south for the winter and only returned with the spring.  They are also known as yardbirds.  Imagine my surprise when I saw lots of them in the woods atop the mountains near my home in the dead of winter-their sweet song brought life to the woods.

Nice Nancy ~

I woke up with a chill this morning, as I had slept with the covers off and my bedroom window wide open. Usually, that would have resulted in poem about being cold! But today, it made me yearn for spring so I re-created some springtime moments for myself by writing this poem!

I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

Bundle up! ~ and read my poem one more time! Flirty

Linda - Yes, your hidden world is a wonderland.  I too listen to the early morning sounds but then fall asleep during the day - not literally but I sure can "switch-off" sometimes.  I'm wilting in the heat here and presently looking forward to winter.  Enjoyed your words.

Hi, Helen!

I got a chuckle out of your 'falling asleep during the day'. My senses seem to be more acute in the morning and then again at night.

I would enjoy sitting in companionable silence with you listening to the hushed sounds of early morn!

Hugs with love,
Linda

My kinda of morning when not a sound to be heard but only that of nature awaking.
A beautiful read.
