What gates hold back the feelings swift and deep?
When flowers bloom the yard both nigh and high
as fairies flit and wait the morning’s sleep
and wonders come to crest thy mountains high

For in the night a loon shall cry his call
Of she who comes to sate the waiting maw...
And he shall wait to catch this maiden’s  fall.
When each shall dance and cast the devil’s claw.

As wings shall brush and spur the flesh to chill
in wait the rise of roaring, raging seas.
Two loons shall soar and softly, quietly trill
a melody above the mighty trees.

When gates hold back the feelings swift and deep
true passion fills a void both wide and steep..
