Made desolate these thoughts from which to draw
a picture of a landscape now turned bleak.
Belying vibrant colors eyes once saw,
this silence makes it difficult to speak.

Where all the sounds of living filled the air,
the thrum, and hum, and buzz of busy things,
made worse now are the echoes of despair
that only having known such things could bring.

A place where things not tempered to the cold,
exposed to it will wither, and, then die.
Once youthful looks are traded in for old,
as well, might have befallen, you and I,

such desolation to be guilty of,
were it not for a little thing called "love".

Doc....

"such desolation to be guilty of,
were it not for a little thing called "love".'

I was very touched by this, especially the last I quoted up there.  Your poetry is always so good!
