the sun went down...
- oh how they cried!

for welling tears
they did not see
the shining stars...

the simplicity of your gem is potent
in the feel that it delivers

aye
much contemplation therein indeed

This is gorgeous CG!! How often we make that mistake in our lives.. mourn what we believe to have lost and not realise what has come to replace it. Brilliant.

The sun has to die and be born again sometime but the night is beautiful enough

BV - thank you, if my words arouse contemplation, that is my reward

Rainbowdust - Yes, sometimes we have to unshut our eyes, lest we miss a falling star...thank you.

RedStoneEB - I believe the stars are there to remind us, that the sun we have lost...is not the only one out there......thank you for commenting.

Back again.. the more I read this, the more I love it, can I print it out and stick it up around my desk at work?

Up it goes next to my Calvin and Hobbes cartoons and Victor Hugo poems hehe. You're in exalted company.

As for the sig.. I guess I use it to remind myself that sometimes a bout of sadness can produce the most beautiful poetry or lead to wondrous epiphanies that end up colouring your whole life.

Rainbowdust - ...then it will be well placed, for I may be what you could call a 'mischievous melancholic' ...LOL.

A single teardrop contains more emotion than a cache of diamonds (providing, of course, neither one is 'zirconia'...)

CG, often we miss something very special because our tears of sadness prevent us from really seeing.

A fine piece of thought-provoking poetry!
