It is all so wrong.
I do not mean what you have said,
what you have done.
None of that matters, really.
It is what I have said,
what I have done
that sickens me so.
All behind me, I say.
Let us leave the past behind
I say

To my selves.
The self of peace and calm
the self that I wish to be always,
the white lily,
pale, spotless
as a goddess among the nettles.
And the self that was in control for so long,
the demon, the succubus
enchantress and liar.
In control
out of control
Melting into blood and ashes.

Dismiss it.
Hide it away.
The wildfire is in its cage.
Let it stay there.
Do not even look at it.
Do not ask why
I am so cold,
unsure of every gesture.

"And the self that was in control for so long,
the demon, the succubus
enchantress and liar."

Very powerful stuff here.
