Another film called Japanese Story

~Japanese Story~

Here I stand beside a roadside,
Taking a picture of myself alone-
looking plain amongst the backdrop
of the wildness with no-one to hold,
In the car I’ve thrown out the annoyance-
and replaced the music with some other sound
trying to feel like I’m in someone else’s shoes.

I stepped off the plane today,
And this new country left me waiting-
with my luggage as my seat
till the driver arrived she was not a he,
She wasn’t even able to speak Japanese-
so I just said “Hi” hoping she would understand
that silence is nothing but a compliment.

She brought me into the desert,
But like the snake bites-
the car became stuck and she bit me
with vile words I never really mistake as kindness,
I learnt in one day that firewood came free-
but the company was rare
so was the blankets for the cold night ahead.

Funny how when the bad turns to good,
The person you disliked the most-
begins to sing along with you
We are on the road again!
Then I knew we might be different-
in the distance between our countries
but we all acted the same to are surroundings.

She slept with me that night in the bed I rented,
But the morning only brought-
a complicated silence
wasn’t that called guilty love?
But I taught her Japanese-
and she taught me to laugh
at the silly little things.

Then I remembered that roadside,
I stood alone then-
but now I stand with a smile
as she stands beside me the same,
Been unable to live without a smile-
makes you search for what I had found
a place with no troubled heart.

Well done Lee!
It is the simple little things that you will remember.
Much enjoyed the write.

I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

Lee, your work is mesmerizing.

"She slept with me that night in the bed I rented,
But the morning only brought-
a complicated silence
wasn’t that called guilty love?"

Another good one.
