During the summer, one can squeeze the drops of impatience

Into a golden rubber band

Send them flying in a straighter line than many people speak.

Hours  are weighed by a freight train moving inches

On a day so slow each identification number can be
added to another and multiplied by nine

No two alike

Every one carrying a load, some broken

Stalling, stopping

Till locomotion

Yawns

I can remember many summer days sitting in front of the railroad tracks and counting the trains as they went by....this was brilliant, my sissy.....however, I read something else there in between the lines....hmmmmmm   ...jo

As we track the mind , unloading baggage , we can patiently  lighten the load

Why is it when we are children summer days seem to last forever and now... sigh. This poem took me back to those summer days of childhood. Thanks for the trip.

You captured my attention so thoroughly with that great image I almost didn't make it to the rest of the poem. *S* Excellent write!

Cathy

Enjoyed the pull that took me back to the long slow summers when waiting for time took forever.

This grows in meaning as you reread it, good thoughts.
