Past

Dedicated to my lost childhood

My mind is slipping from its hinges.
My heart is ripping from the ridges of its bind.
Thwart my tongue, but take not my voice.
My thoughts remain unsung, but it is my choice.
My heart may be empty, but it is mine to be hollow.
I may walk to my demise, but it my path to follow.
Render me not dead, for so much is left unsaid.
I live to be free and I die an unknown.
Though I am an outcast.
My past is still alone.

Momma says, "Life... is like a box full of chocolates, you never know when you're gonna get one with a nut in it".
