Failing to produce the expected,
Another day goes by unsaid.
Formatted with columns,
Words aligned as if manipulated,
By the hands of a perfectionist,
Headlines in bold, unforgettable type;
The hours cease to slow,
And succeed one another unstopably,
Balanced precariously on the newstand,
Which is in dire need of another coat of thick,
Nondescript paint.

A storm blows through,
Carrying with it the weightlessness,
Of the cheaply made periodicals,
Dollars lost,
Even the color print following,
Their greyscale counterparts,
And depositing them not far from the salesman,
Who sits on the curb,
Head propped weakly upon his scarred,
And callused hands;
Anticipating with dread,
His unwanted tomorrow.

[edited for the addtion of two words]

Like a ship blown from it's mooringby a wind off the sea- I have been changed for good.
