My dear precious daughter
I hold you in my heart
Just like I always have
Right from the very start

The day when you were born
And I held you in my arms
I vowed to love and protect you
Keeping you from all harm

There are things you don’t know
Things I will never tell
I love you more than life itself
But as a mother, it seems I failed

You went through so much
It just broke my heart into
No matter how hard I tried
It seems I couldn’t protect you

Today, as I think of you
I wish that you were here
To embrace you in my arms
And show how much I care

No mother is perfect. We're human ~ and humans are not perfect. A mother's loving heart can do a lot of making up for any short-comings she may have.
