RETALIATION
14 July 1986

Arachne
empowered and powerless
consumed
him
and then consumed him
and afterwards
walked away
but
the further she walked
the more she digested him
and each infinitesimal part of him
reached each infinitesimal part of her
and she carried him past Death
for his mind
exploded
hers.

wow! don't know for sure that I understand it as it was intended, but I love it! You have a powerful way of setting up an emotionally charged scene!

Thank you so much Midnitesun and RedstoneEB.

This was a reply/retaliation to the following poem written TO me (and he wasn't my husband, nor did I have one then):

DIE SPINNE
1985

Reincarnated
Arachne
willfully
but
fully within nature's laws
crafting
a
trap
for unsuspecting (or unheeding, inattentive?)
prey and
other snacks
like peripheral husbands
(a snack after duty done)
devoured by jealousy
kept faithful by consumption
Arachne waiting
each night she snares the moon
each morning
she traps
the sun.

- JK

His poem was most uncomplimentary to me and accused me of devouring him.  Mine to him said that although I may have devoured him, in doing so, he became part of me, and I adored/admired/was-in-awe-of his mind so much, that it exploded mine.

All the poems I have posted recently were to the same guy.

Very powerful work Diana.
