heart of a carnie
spirit of a southern roadhouse
laugh of a honky tonk woman
body of a dance hall girl
skin hard and tight
like it could break
whiskey voice
she rode in on the bus
looking for a heart to break
and fool that I am
I handed her mine

All too easy to do, ain't it? But hearts do regenerate in time, even though, like a crab's rebuilt claw, they're not quite what was there before, for a long long time.....

She sounds like some of the girls I know, or have known, as they crush my heart.  Enjoyed the poem since it didn't break anything yet touched so much.
