 Artist: Odilon Redon Rebirth of the Spirit ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ +*+*+*+*+*+ I leapt from a mountain and into the air, ~Flapping my arms on a wing and a prayer. I was lost and lonely and deep in despair, As I plunged to the ground in living nightmare. My spirit rose up to the heavens above. I felt the embrace of Mother God’s Love. I passed Pearly Gates on the wings of a dove, And I have rejoiced since that moment thereof. Some think I’m an angel ~ but I’m just a girl. My grand leap of faith caused spirit wings to unfurl. When I leapt from that mountain in rudderless twirl ~My faith was restored with wings in awhirl. Now I soar with the eagles above Mother Earth, Since that moment divine of my spirit's rebirth. I'm brimming with confidence and high self-worth, I'm hopeful, and joyful, and full of mirth. +*+*+*+*+*+ “We are born of star dust, And to the stars we shall one day return.” ~ Linda L. You know this was a great poem but what really gets to me give it afew days this poem with have 31 replies yet everyone else has to settle for 1 or 2 goes to show how much poets care about others only interested in there favourite ones its as if they don't give a damn |

Lee ~ Thank you! ~ I think! lol To be perfectly honest, I do believe that the more poems that one reads and replies to, the more responses they tend to receive in return. For every poem that I post, I read on average, 26. Just common courtesy, would result in many of them replying to one of my poems. There are several poets whose talent I am in awe of and I do not want to miss a single poem of their's. Some may think that is favouritism ~ and yes, in a way it is! ~ because they are my favourite poets! I wish I could read every single poem posted, but since that is impossible, I spend most of my time reading those I'm familiar with and enjoy. I check out new poets as they arrive and some of them become my "favourites" as well. It's not a numbers game. It is all about whose poems you enjoy reading and about common courtesy in replying to those who take the time to read and reply to one's own poems. I'm pleased that you regard this write as a "great poem". Thank you for responding and have a great day! Oh Linda, this is sooooooo gorgeous, sweet friend, this reminded me soooooo much of when I was a little boy and I was heartbroken because no one could understand me, even my caring parents couldn't get through to me ever so much, and I often felt like ending my life too until I turned to Him and found new confidence and meaning that now makes me most optimistic and thankful, yay!
