Yes Tommy was wise.
He said things like:

And a level nine paladin
In dungeons and dragons.
So here’s to you buddy.
Go show em’ what you got
In that unplugged world
I call home.

The ballad is an actually form with rules to be written by
Although not all follow them.
As a tribute, it shows a sincere caring to your friend
