The path

A tree of golden ferns sat upon a path
A black tree set on fire sat across with menacing wrath

The golden path, it was, oh, so easy
The black one, twisty, turny, oh, so queasy

A voice called out from the path of gold
It said, “Give me your hand, and behold!”

Another voice called out from the path of black
It said, “Come my way, and never look back.”

Eyes, they work in such mysterious ways
Deceiving us and leading us into an impossible maze

The man on the path, chose the golden tree
For this path was easy, as any mans eye could see

He joined the millions of others that were sucked into the wrath
For, in actuality, this way was an antipode of his desired path

So few who traveled this road
So few saw the blackened gates that were so corroad

Irony has many twists and turns
For the gates of black were beyond the tree of ferns

So few who traveled this road
So few saw the white castle and gleaming gates that showed

Irony has many twists and turns
For, the gates of white were beyond the tree that burns

A man stood upon a path

U.S.A - The American Eagles Wartime Address.

The eagle on his branch beckoned to the men before him
And said “War, and history go hand and hand.

I ask that you pay attention to the men of old
When kings went abroad and plans went cold

Wartime is not kind, neither is love
Love the ones you will, for you will kill the ones you hate

The old tapes of war said many things
The old tapes of war taught us many things

By the hand of god, men shall die
By the hand of god, new nations shall arise.

But it will not be this day, for this day we fight
Not to build a new nation

But to keep the one we have upright
Not to build a new nation

By the hand of god, empires will collapse
By the hand of god, the great rulers time shall elapse

But it will not this day, for this day we fight
Not to build a new nation

But to keep the one we have upright
Not to build a new nation

By the hand of god, tyrants will come and go
By the hand of god, souls will be cast to the fire below

But it will not be this day, for this day we fight
Not to build a new nation

But to keep the one we have upright
Not to build a new nation

By the hand of god, nations shall defend
By the hand of god, men shall slay there own kin

That will occur on this day, for this day we fight
Not to build a new nation

But to keep the one we have upright
Hold your flag to your chest, Hold it tight

Off to war you go
The fierce eagles eye always in the enemies sight. “

Hi ChaCha!

This is an interesting first post.  I enjoyed your philosophical bent and am impressed with the maturity of your thought.
Well-penned reflections on life and the times that we are living.

Thanks for posting!
