Words of advice given to my daughter by the one she likes most.


Dream not your dreams
For they will fail
Dream not your dreams
For they come to no avail

Feelings are wicked
Hearts don’t beat true
Plans are like bridges
That burn through and through

I’ve had many dreams
None have come to pass
I may be your dream
But it will not last

So put away those dreams
Take back your heart
Don’t try those schemes
Don’t play that part

I don’t want you now
I won’t want you then
So stop making plans
And don’t dream of me again

I’m not worth your time
Don’t waste it on me
You’re not worth mine
We shall never be
