Eighteen Minute’s

That’s how often between each spray
this semi new multi-function aerosol dispenser is set for.
The smell of sweet lavender comes with a swish
and for just a few seconds it seems too sweet,
maybe I will get daring and try a new fragrance next time!

You would think this action in such a mundane world
would have little or no weight baring significant  meaning,
I would’ of never thought twice about such an inanimate object
but just as I forget about it going on to new thoughts
there it goes reminding me eighteen minutes lost!

Lost there’s a word we take for granite!
time lost that’s what I call it right now “swish gone”
something inside says to fight, but im tired is that aloud?
eighteen minutes, eighteen months wow how time fly’s
how strong is enough and when can weak be the choice word.

For the next eighteen minutes though I am going to think
of just how multi-functional my little private office,
slash bedroom swish life is, and keep in mind not the pain in life
but the beauty I am so trying to fight to keep hold of for I’ve
been told this too shall pass but not by the sweet smell of lavender!

Hi Cerenity...I'm happy to see you!!  I am so allergic to those things, and candles too.  Anything sweet smelling does me in, except Maui rain.  I can easily see how its constant poof, is a reminder of how time moves quickly.  I think this poem is great and very thought filled...I enjoyed it!!  Again, I'm glad to see you...welcome home!

We take our freedom to live for granted. You remind us how confining it is when we are ill. But the  mind is not confined and yours should grace these blue pages more often. You have a lot to contribute. You know more than most anout life

It has been far too many "eighteen minute" spans since you have graced us with your poetry ~ and you!

I got even more out of your words on the second read through!
