Apollo
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

StarsStars
In twilight hours of evening's gleaming,
stood the god of past nights' dreaming,
Bathed in starlight with golden crown,
~wrapped in gossamer toga gown.
Proud stood he, in Apollo stance,
I swooned with awe, transfixed in trance.
Noble was this god from skies,
with Eden promise of paradise.
A land of plenty and endless love,
~No war of man, just peace of dove.
His hand reached down from starry sky,
I slipped him mine with uttered sigh.
Thru' realms of time we'll spin together,
for we are one ~ now and forever...

There is something very delicate
and light about your pen Linda. May I
borrow it sometime? This poem is beautiful.

Some people say that rhyming takes the spirit out of a poem, some say it gives it. I like my poems to rhyme, and have rhythm. This poem is both, it has spirit, meaning, rhythm, (did I spell that right) and it rhymes. I love it

Linda, I am so happy to see you are writing and posting. I know it cannot be easy, but I admire your tenacity.

Now about this poem .... oh girl, it is spectacular. I just love the following lines:

His hand reached down from starry sky,
I slipped him mine with uttered sigh.
Thru' realms of time we'll spin together,
for we are one ~ now and forever...
