there are
a million
thoughts
in a
single
drop of water

a million prayers
in one
tear

how can I
separate
one from
another

each drop
each time
each year

evaporate them
in drying
sun’s
rays?

more will fall
during
my lonely
sleepless
nights

and they
moisten
my empty
days

a dried thought
a dried prayer
liquid sorrow

more than

my share

Why is it that we never seem to run out of teardrops? You would think that the pain some of us endured and the tears we cried would have dried up the supply.

Touched my heart in a big way,

After being gone for the last two years or so the first peom I read fits the reason for my return.

Thank you for this great piece.

no kidding, sometimes the burden is too much and then one day you find it lifted, if only for a spell, gives one a chance to breathe, and carry the next bundle.

I have been waiting for this, you know?

Sharon, this is awesome.  Reminds me of the saying, "It's not what you have but what you do with it."  You certainly did wonders with this.

  God bless

Even tears are incredible, especailly in what they convey.  I hugged my sister today for the first time in over 13 years, my body shaking and tears running.  She got tears, too, and then we laughed because her mascara was not waterproof....sisters!  I enjoyed this lovely freewrite!  Thank you for sharing.

I love this.

I love the style on you, the depth, and the courage.

(and I have tried to read this a kzillion times and this is the first time I wasn't interrupted--no kidding--well, the kzillion was a slight bit of hyperbole )

I think this is among your best, Shar. (I'm still a sucker for your humor poems tho)

And I would love to see more of you like this.
