regret sometimes kisses
the back of my hand
like an apologetic knight
no longer charming or grand

Sir Yesterday is the name
He’s known me well for years
He’s sorry, oh so sorry,
For my remorseful tears

He lingers long emboldened
By the darkness of my soul
His mocking smile confirms
That he has reached his goal

This knight of the shadowy realm
Never heeds my humble plea
To break the bond of remorse
And allow me to be free.

**Thanks Juju! I used your phrase first! It's been a long time since I felt like writing!

This is the perfect poem for me to read on a day filled with remorse, regret... and utter bafflement at the transgressions I've managed to achieve. *S*

It's great to read you again, Devine One!
