Tent or Mansion

There once was a man who lived in a tent along a gravel road.
On either side of this gravel road were fields of fruit trees:
Of which the sustenance this man did enjoy.
And, he was grateful to the sun, rain, and soil for
giving life to these fruit trees through their very roots
that held them fast in place.
Grateful too, for the wind that blew through the branches
to cause the leaves to stimulate the trees to partake
of the nutrition of the earth.

He was very satisfied at what he saw.
Glad and filled with his joy, time now being high noon,
he left his tent and began walking down
his gravel road and
enjoying his living in this heavenly earth.

However, on this very day, he found a huge
black pearl which was mixed in with the gravel of the road.
Picking up the pearl and holding it between his thumb and forefinger,
he raised it up to use the background of a bright blue sky
and the brilliance of the sun to examine his find.

To his amazement, behind that pearl,
he saw a window open in the sky revealing the heavens.
He was so amazed at what he saw he fell back flat on his back.
He quickly sat up,
and still staring into Heaven, he began to mumble:

“Golden streets, and Mansions.Endless fields of fruit trees,
and a brilliance of light without a sky or star for light.
And, an abundance of clean clear water flowing from living springs.”

JL...This poem/story is very interesting.  I have a black opal which I can see things in...like the loving heart of the man who gave it to me, but never a city.  I'll look for more of this in the "to be continued".

JL, so good to see you posting again.  I have a piece of carved jade - and on both sides, I see different things...so I am anxious to continue reading your beginning of Tent or Mansion...as I am sure you will show us an abundant view of wonderful.
