Moved from a shack to a barn

I don’t much feel like myself on Tuesdays

I wanted to suggest to my co-worker
He take the Lion’s share of the shift today

That I was sick

Sick of catering to the vapid and vain
Of accommodating the disparate housewives

And their allergies to wheat and dairy
Oil, nuts, garlic and flavor

I wanted to say, too, that I was tired

Tired of hearing second hand gossip
About this or that wife’s dreadful omissions
Or some husband’s unwanted emissions

So, if it’s all the same to you L.D.?
I don’t feel like working

Today, I think, I’d rather play at poetry

Maybe coax a few thoughts
Into a game of follow the leader

Or perhaps, continue to revise my personal history
That honor, I’m told, goes to the victor

And since this struggle has always been, Me vs. Me
I decided a while back to declare myself “winner”

A man who, instead of being unkempt and alone
Can portray himself as “a hermit without mirrors”

Where “tired” and “sick”
Can become merely “ennui”

When you "play" at poetry, you play hard!  This is great, Ed!   ...jo

Now it makes sense.

Eddie

(This was amazing btw)

and uhhh . . . Can I send this to those soccer moms I keep telling you about?

Just keep in mind, at least us, we, all of us, are so very different, sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse,
but at least we see and yes, without mirrors
(or scales)

I owe you an apology.

I never do give you a decent reply, but in my own defense, you always leave me thinking,

"What more is there to say?"

Please don't take it as a lack of appreciation though. The forum suffers when you go silent, even when you write silence, you are a presence. Kinda like my Dad, yanno?

I think you do.

I love you Uncle Yeti.

Good for you, its true, you taught me that:

And since this struggle has always been, Me vs. Me
I decided a while back to declare myself “winner”

Enjoyed this immensely, but it seems to me I am very different from the women you come into contact with on Tuesdays, as I am not a housewife, nor desperate, never sick, seldom tired (except seconds before I fall asleep)and my topics of conversation are vastly different!

What does L.D. stand for?

Whether it be self-hate or self-importance too many people these days can't see beyond themselves....

I love this.

I'm so glad you did! *S*

And while I usually have a soft spot in my heart for Tuesdays since they've given me some of the best days of my life... I must admit I was ready to shed blood this week... suicide or homicide hardly mattered as long as I got my boss outta my face! LOL So... I can identify... and even if I couldn't... I'd appreciate. *S*
