Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2006-01-18 05:26 PM

If G-d compel thee to this destiny,
To die alone, with none beside thy bed

Thinking upon the days long past
When you the life of a vagabond led
Do you, then, feel the pain of anger
Caused by your deeds upon the Earth
As you lie there are you in pain
Do you fear the man on his way to you
Are your eyes dry or do you weep
With regret knowing the robed one appears
Ready to lead you to your final reward

Opening line and title stolen... uh... borrowed from Elizabeth Barrett Browning "A Thought For A Lonely Deathbed

"...and as we drift along, I never fail to be astounded by the things we'll do for promises..."
Ronnie James Dio

“He had been to touch the Great Death, and found that, after all, it was but the Great Death.
He was a man.”

Brad?

Make the first two lines your own.

This is amazing.
