It's interesting sometimes to just start writing random thoughts and nonsense to see what comes out...here's mine.

I confess that I'm befuddled by
A lot of things I've heard.
Some mysteries of life have seemed
To border on absurd.

I l don't know where the yellow went
And, to this day,have fits
From wondering why everything's better
When it's sitting on a Ritz.

Still cannot tell you where's the beef
Or how a little dab will do me.
I've looked for answers everywhere
But they just won't come to me.

I have a can of Goo-Gone
But don't know where the goo goes.
Perhaps one day I'll search for it
On Google, I suppose.

I must confess that goo is quite
A fascinating word!
It's the first word that we ever said
And the first thing that we heard.

I remember back when I was born
Staring at my mother, who
Was prodding me and smiling, saying,
"goo goo goo goo goo".

"What's this woman mean?", I thought.
"Is that some kind of code?"
She hit me with those goo-goo's
'Til I thought I would explode.

Then one day I responded "Goo!"
And she screamed out, "He SPOKE!!'
She gave me a bear hug so darn tight
I thought that I would choke!

Then she said goo and I said goo
And she said goo once more.
Then the old man came in and we goo'd
Until my throat was sore.

Here a goo, there a goo, everywhere a goo-goo
Each one with a kiss
Thenone day dad said "gootchie goo"
And I thought, "hmmm...what's this?"

He'd prod my side with fingers stiff
And say the phrase anew.
For years I thought that "gootchie" was
The armpit of a goo!!!

So now goo is a yucky thing
And Goo-Gone gets it out
But it will always be the word
I heard when I came out.

I'll pile some goo up on a Ritz.
Yes, that might do the trick
And find out where the yellow went
Before I get too sick.

So many things that we don't know
So little precious time.
So many things we can't explain
Just like this silly rhyme.

what a wonderfully fun read...like a transport through time itself...amazing how far into our deepest resources go the commercials of this world...and then, the direction you allowed it to go in...very much enjoyed...thanks for the smiles...

A very Gooood way to continue on
with the giving of some New Year thoughts...
and ponderings.

Well done, 'Deer!

You learned about Goo Gone long ago
You say from your Mom and Pop,
Well I learned of its many uses from Grandma,
Whose purse was always filled up to the top!

“I would never leave home without it,” she’d say,
I depend on this handy Goo Gone in my bag.
This stuff cleans almost anything at all,
You only need a little of it on a rag.”

“A Mother’s friend is this great invention
For crayon marks, oil, grease, all sorts of scum.
It removes candle wax, paint, shoe polish, ink,
Makeup, duct tape, and even sticky chewing gum.”

She’d go on and on about Goo Gone’s benefits
So as I grew up ~ I never left home without it.
I kept waiting for even a little paint to fall,
Wishing for some grimy scum ~ even a little bit.

I went for years telling everyone of its value,
Expounding the surfaces safe for its use.
Faithfully I replaced old tubes with new,
In case I found some one’s sticky abuse.

One day, while least expecting it,
I rambled on and on a bit too much I guess …
Someone jumped me, duct taped my mouth,
Guess what?  Goo Gone didn’t clean up THAT mess!

And even though it was long ago,
Before 'Deer and I were friends.
It isn't strange, nothing's changed,
He still uses Depends.

Hi ya, 'Deer

"Even the ramblings of the sanest man are yet nothing but ramblings;
Who is to say whom is sane and whom is barmy?”

This quote, which was a rambling of mine, opened a collection of poems i wrote, out of my idle mind. Good things come out of ramblings

I've been looking for a while
to find a Florida man
with curly hair and eyes of blue
sporting a golfer's tan.

First test was my user name--
used the wrong password, too.
Then when I finally get here,
he is up to his ears in Goo!

Yeah...Balladeer might sing it,
but he'd never kiss and tell.
With Goo Gone at his service
to keep his secret well!

I was given the definition of a 'fifth wheel' tonight:   a camper which is dependant on a pick-up!  (hmmmm! maybe there is something to going shoe-leather express after all)
