The Edge of Time
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

+*+*+*+*+*+
Through swirling night skies of indigo blue,
Bright beams of moonlight were streaming thru’.
Diamond-white rays limbed a distant shore,
As I gazed across seas into Evermore.

Flashing auroras lit up neon night,
As I peered in awe at the glorious sight.
For there before me, lie mystical lands
With tropical trees and white sifting sands.

Gardens with flowers of every hue,
And unicorns romping, came into view.
All was innocent and simply sublime,
In a land existing at the edge of time.

Towers of ivory touched sorbet skies,
Where dwelled fairy prince who ruled paradise.
This mystical world appeared once a year,
When Duanan the Druid would reappear.

The wee Celtic folk danced in gay merriment,
In high celebrations of this happy event.
With ringing resounding from blue floral bells,
They whirled in circles around fairy wells.

I stood there in silence in a state of awe,
At the beauty and gaiety I joyously saw.
But then in an instant, all blurred in the midst
Of a dense rolling fog of heavy dew mist.

What was it I saw? ~ And dare I believe?
As I gazed across seas on a midsummer’s eve.
Perhaps I was beckoned to this land sublime,
To remind me of home at the far edge of time.

Through swirling night skies of indigo blue,
Bright beams of moonlight came streaming thru’.
Diamond-white rays limbed a distant shore,
As I gazed across seas into Evermore.
+*+*+*+*+*+

Way cool!!  lacks the proper adjectives, I know, but it was the first thing to come to mind.  I've seen this land many times in my dreams as a child, but never as an adult.  thanks for bringing back to me.

earth Angel, this was a nice sweet imaginary right that I really enjoyed, I just have one question, what does sublime mean?  When I come accross a word I dont know I indeed to get curious, do so to let me know, it was in your poem

The Picture here was wonderful too and fited perfected with your poem,   Good write and sparkles to drift in with, keep up the awesome poetry!!!

Poetry can get you very far

Angelheart ~

Asking questions is how we learn!

"Sublime" means glorious and awe-inspiring.

I appreciated your warm and thoughtful response!

May your day be a sublime one!

Loves 'n hugs ~ and smiles,

Earth Angel,
You've ridden a rhyme to the edge of prime
And that's where you saw the edge of time.

Girlfriend, you've inspired me again. This is fabulous and have been to this place many time but have never seen:

"Towers of ivory touched sorbet skies,
Where dwelled fairy prince who ruled paradise.
This mystical world appeared once a year,
When Duanan the Druid would reappear."

Thanks for intoducing him to me. As you know, I have my own prince, but it's always nice to meet another and say 'hello.'

Great writing as always.  Love and hugs on a windy, icy, snowy, freezing cold day.  Marti

Marti ~

Brrrr! I'm freezing ~ I am quite a sight to behold. The cold weather today drained the last bit of warmth from me. I am at my desk in my basement office with a blanket around me, a heating pad on my back, and a big steamin' cup of hot chocolate! Care to join me? But bring a sweater ~ no, a parka! lol

Has my poem inspired you to write another one of your fantazzmagorical fantasy poems?!?

Big hug-o-love,
Linda

Glad I came in here before I started my day!  What a wonderful way to do so!  Thank you for the fantasy moments.

What is a parka?  A blanket-like garment you put your head through?

I hope all your days ~ and nights! Flirty ~ live up to your fantasies!

A parka is a heavy jacket that you keeps your warm on very cold days. Also known as
an anorak, ski jacket, windbreaker, windcheater ~ to name a few.

Thanks for flying by! It's been a hoot!
