Recompense There is a path of recompense That sooths me to an ambience Resting here my thoughts in find That oft inoculates my mind It is a path of inner turn I walk when there is known concern And though I do not touch the real I find the spirit quite ideal Its oil upon a choppy sea Its light that cleaves the mist in me It is a harbor of benign It is a bed of pure resign It plays for me a phantom knight It stays the riggers of my plight And here within my rocking chair I’ve won the battle of declare What better way to jump a fence And earn a mental recompense |
