that ol jake
he could dig hisself in
deeper'n anyone
furrowin freakin fields
no one else would dare hitch
just any ole ass to

'n that day
he was harder 'n hotter 'n shovel spit

she jus snuck up behind his sorry ass
and says
'move on over, sunny boy
i got three hungry mouths ta feed
'n yer blockin the dirt
with yer dead plow'

so jake, he addled off
to his ditch-side tent
still scratchin the surface of his waders
that got 'em in over his head
while watchin that redhead sway

Interesting work here. This sounds like farming for shearers where you get paid by the number of sheep shorn and tagged by the end of the run. The competition is fierce. It sounds like the competition is fierce in this scene you've painted too.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I loved this, especially with that accent!  I'm no authority on any American accent, but I could just hear you reading this, even though I don't know your voice!
