Love Is

Love is you
To me
The touch
Of your skin
Brushing mine
The scent of you
When I awake
The sheer joy
Of being with you

Love is a wonder
To me
Its warmth
Fills my soul
Erasing all chill
From my blood
Flowing through
The chambers
Of my heart
Bringing joy

Love is a benediction
To me
Its touch
Blesses my spirit
Bathing me in newness
A certain wondrous
Glow that shines
From my skin
From within
Making everything
Pink with pleasure

Love is light
To me
It illumes
My world with magic
Everything has
A degree of being special
Its light brightens all
There is no dullness
Everything shimmers
All glimmers and glistens
With sheer wonder

Love is nourishment
To me
I don't need
Mere food or drink
For it cannot sustain me
The way that you do
It is packed with power
Tastes like heaven
And strengthens me
As nothing else
Can or ever will do

Love is pure delight
To me
It paints my world
With sweetness
Brushing my senses
With a touch
That is almost
Unbearably good
And so utterly
Necessary
For me to continue
To exist

Love is perfection
To me
It brings joy
Warmth, light
And wonder
And makes each day
Complete and whole
It is the engine
That drives my soul
The music that
My spirit cavorts to
The food
That nourishes me
And the touch
That welcomes me
Always

Love is a circle
To me
Surrounding me
In its warming beneficence
And protecting me
From harm
A circle of strength
Unbroken, unchanging
And ever present

Love is you
To me

How blessed you are in love! I enjoyed your poem and was most uplifted by it. I saw in your responses to some other poems, that you aren't well. I am very sorry to hear that. It is so unfair that I can't give you half of my health - I have so much of it and would love to share it, if only there was a way. However, my prayers and good wishes go out to you in abundance.

Marsha,
it good to see you back in form. It good just to see you posting. you must be feeling better. You'd better to get the doctor to take a look at your breathing problem though...it seems to be coming in shorter and faster gasps.
