In Your Poetic Mind

An endless stretch,
splitting the night
   with storms tapping
windows
darkness once fell
embraced by lonely hearts
  with vibrant silence

a stillness     unable to touch, --

the   finger tip thoughts
   of holding --

A journeys step between here and there

That I could press
   my lips to    water
and taste the  roots
   of each    river that has
bended us together

That I could feel the ripples; --
    each strand of hair--
to hide  feelings

Walls faded  in  growing seasons --
of long ago whispers;
that I could forget
the    days   of existing  for  nights
of peace --

Or how fragments of spring
   beneath  shade can
be exotic --
    a hint of color
for  baring    weeping  willows     new foliage

    {he has closed his eyes
a small start   in the big window}

In the rain    tonight
  I found the faint hint
of soft music  --
  gentle melody   of watercolors

Seeping across the landscape
   with gentle footsteps
gold on gold,   patchwork of shadows,
     images of emeralds

Riding the ghost to
  edges--
   leaning up against
the wall
rendezvousing    with   the raven-

I don’t mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile

An exquisite poem, Greeneyes.  I am going to read this many times to drink in every drop of beauty, so that I don't miss any of it.  Hope you won't be offended, but I think you meant "has bent" and not "has bended".

Please may we have a lot more of your poetry.

I read this last night and thought it was exquisite...wanted to refresh myself with it once again...truly an excellent write...if I were to copy and paste my favorite part below, I would need to rehearse the entire poem.  Hats off--brava!

*smile*

you just painted me a landscape missy.

(thank you)

and this I wish I had written:

That I could press
   my lips to    water
and taste the  roots
   of each    river that has
bended us together

Beautiful, Lauren

Sigh, beautiful as always!

That I could press my cheek against the warmth of your poetry...then I'll never grow cold again...

oh my sweet sweet sister

I almost missed this.  Lady L~ your posts are to few and far in between (for my preferances, anyhow     )
but when you do come and grace us with your gift it always feels like I am carried to the most beautiful places in the world, and I swear gal, your soul is one of the most beautiful things on earth...
Definately, keeping this one m'friend...

Please, don't stay away so long gal, hope all is wonderful with you.
