We got to know each other by fortune
my father her mother and fate
they got married and settled
we got thrown together that way
I got to know her nature
I got to see her gentle ways
though she was a stepsister
I told her how I felt one day

chorus:
"I said do you think that I'm crazy Sherry
Do you think that I'm outa line
cause I'm fallin in love with you Sherry
seems nothin's gonna change my mind"

she walked away from me slowly
but she turned to study my face
gave me a grin and crossed her arms
I could feel my beatin heart shake
I spoke as she looked right through me
The air as still as a wake
"we ain't kin so this ain't sin"
Lord she never had a thing to say.

chorus:
"Do you think that I'm crazy Sherry
Do you think that I'm outa line
cause I'm fallin in love with you Sherry
seems nothin's gonna change my mind"

well we finally got round to talkin
she took my hand and told me she knew
studied my eyes when I'd pass by
they'd given her more than a clue
said she shared a fire with a lover
and got scorched by the flame
cause he ran off with another
only time would cover the pain

chorus:
"Do you think that I'm crazy Sherry
Do you think that I'm outa line
cause I'm fallin in love with you Sherry
seems nothin's gonna change my mind"

Now some days in the evening
Outside I can hear her voice
In the little son she gave me
Playin with the other boys.
The river of love stopped flowing
When Gehrig took away our choice
Before the final sleep she told me
She never knew a greater joy

chorus:
"Do you think that I'm crazy Sherry
Do you think that I'm outa line
cause I'm fallin in love with you Sherry
seems nothin's gonna change my mind"

Nope! I don't think you "pushed the envelope too far"!

I liked the sass and flash and the achey-breaky, yearnin'-burnin' kinda theme! I would imagine that your words would sound sensational put to your music! I'd love to hear it!

I feel sadness and I feel life

If the same happened to me, your words will help

Eric

Love the song and the heartbreak theme.  As always I can hear the melody in my head when I read you.

I didn't particularly like achy breaky heart, but this has the same sense of unfinished business and I like this a lot.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Eric...

I love songs like this.
If it's on a CD, tell me how much...

I would love to hear it...

over and over and over again.

I love it too and I pray it's not true. Gehrig's is a thief.
