Wynter's Flower

There it rests, out of sorts
petals limp from Wynter's tears.
The past a present holding on
through these too many years.

The blooms of selfish, needing fed
for eyes to see its lilt.
There it is, in sallowed look,
a tomorrow's song in wilt.

Across the miles, the layers grow
as passion feeds the will,
waiting out rejection's feel,
Wynter's flower, still.

A rose is a rose is a rose they say,
late blooming, lacks the sun.
Accepting words to build the now,
the upturn growth of one.

Reflecting this, a time on edge
when Winter creeps on by.
The equalizer becomes the You,
whose words of feed, seek I.

Sadly reflective of our long winter days...

but a beautiful song, nevertheless.

Lovely, my friend.
