Forest Hearth
11 January 2006

Tear-frozen
freshly office-damaged
and confined by childhood morals
and tattletale rules,
I looked up
and there was a window
and there was a forest
and there were vermilion sun-smiles
from my beloved
Bauhinia galpinii
and I became
a flower,
a swan
and my wings
lifted me
into a lark
high over my head
singing
untainted orange
flowerlets.

What a beautiful write, Diana. After visiting a website that shows this gorgeous shrub, I appreciate the thoughts in this write even more!
And thank you so much, for your kind replies to my posts.

And Midnitesun and Iliana, what beautiful responses!  Midnitesun, I am so pleased that you know what it looks like.  It is a beautiful shrub. If you are still watching this thread, please will you post the link to the site you saw.  I try to spend as little time online as it is very expensive to be online in South Africa if you have a Pay-As-You-Go phone, as I have.

Iliana, I am so pleased you enjoyed it so much and that it will lighten your spirit on rainy days.
