~ *  SEASONS  * ~

Ever felt those frigid breezes that can chill you to the bone?
The kind that make you absolutely sure you’re not alone?
One whistled up behind me on this crisp, refreshing day,
The kind of day where all the kids are sent outside to play.

Bare but budding bushes were struggling all around.
I could smell the winter rot still decaying on the ground.
Bark was stripping off the trees like summer’s sun-seared skin,
Then all at once it saddened me ~ the moment I found myself in.

Seasons must change I sadly realized, along with all of you and me,
Like the very stages I often witness in my favorite big apple tree.
Full of fragrant flowers in the spring, glistening apples in summer's shimmer,
Then the pendulum of fall and winter make her beauty so much dimmer.

Life is but a series of four seasons for all of creation, including man,
It makes sense to seize the moment, and draw from it all that you can.

Carpe’ Diem

Oh, the seasons move too quickly, I think, Sharon.  I long for springtime again!  But, there is much to be appreciated in each one.  I think Winter must have been a gift so we could reflect and feel moments like you just shared.   ....jo

How very true Sharon..
the changing seasons of nature and man.
Seems like only yesterday I was enjoying my own spring and summer....
Heart hugs, Nancy

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

Sharon, you have captured life so well. And how quickly those seasons pass. We all need to enjoy each and every day!

Hugs to you and your precious granddaughters.  M

Yes, that certainly makes sense.  Enjoyed your meander through the seasons of change. Each one I am sure has its own good side but I guess it's hard to find when shoveling snow - never done that myself though so I don't really know.

You get to know "seasons" when you have snow, and to be honest there is nothing more beautiful than a new fresh snowfall to me anyway.  There is nothing more beautiful either than a human being in the winter of their life, for it is then that all their wisdom, beauty and warmth is truly shared from the heart.

Thank you Honeybunch, you just inspired me to think of something new.

Sharon

Seasons circle round and round
and find the end beginning found
and in my human skin I know
the path grows shorter then you know

Enjoyed in many ways, your poem!

Now you see Martie?  That is what I was trying to say.  The skin I am in too gets a little closer to the end every day, but brother, do I enjoy my seasons

Very true indeed, as the sun has been shining in the mid 50's - 60's for 4 days now, very odd for here and we just went through 13 straight days with no sun!

Can I have the season with the flowered tree, please?

I am glad you all liked this one, it was born of these 27 days here of rain!  I was trying to put a reason to this season before we all drown   Oh well, it will be over soon enough.  Thanks again.

Must be the season of the witch?

:notworthy:

cycles, you are learning, my pixie, but don't be sad, because as you know--

"...the seasons
they go round and round
and the painted ponies go up and down"

"...we can't return we can only look
behind from where we came
and go round and round and round
in the circle game."

Joni Mitchell (of course)

and I've a challenge for you, sweet lady.

Now due the eight fold wheel...
