A  still breath on a summer breeze
the dark end of voices
no drops of peace
above your stone
under the rivers rush
of aging heart

slower the burn
where I have tried to
capture this emotion
from chest to palm
and broken light
pressing each curve between
hollow and stirring

even when rain settles
the taste of ash
floating on air
this eternal image
of petal and reflection
          such beautiful harmony

to disappear within his breath
between his lips

             just that moment

when I will  notice
the stars as the fingers of my soul

crimson will bled
       soft in midnights dreams
and your softer pleading
will move your edge of soul
amidst each endless night
to shift reason
for the cross you bear

there are no borders until
we tear the memory
of changing time

between horizon and sky

&hollow shapes

I will forget my palms are pressed
and my lips thirsty

and the dark end of voices
where dead memories lie

will sink into earth

letting stillness move onward
untouched

there is so much talent within
this poet, I dont think i could ever come
close --but I tired.....

I don’t mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile

Man, this is an amazing write, I have 2 on my mind, cannot decide which.

Beautiful job, Lauren, but I dont want to guess just yet.  Let's see what others see and I hope I am right.  I think I am.

Dang this is beautiful..
I could be wrong..
But, it reads like something by littlewing/Sue.

Lovely indeed Lauren.
Well done!

I'm guessing Sue, too.

But ya'll are both such lovely poets, it's difficult to discern...

Brava, sweet Lauren!

I have to be honest, I peeked at the other replies first ~ but I have to say that our littlewing is who fluttered into my mind as I was reading your fine piece of writing!

Damn Loopy, you did a great job of poetically masking your words in Sue's style.  I'm impressed, truly...

You know what Lauren, this sounds like we did a duet?

How the hell did you do that?
