Between the Lines

I press the buttons of understanding,
trying my mind until the fingers
say "give up".
Minutes pass by, then hours and days
until all that is left is an old life
to return to.
One that needs forgiveness,
and another chance,
even after the last has been.
Technology took over,
filling the emptiness
where one button was replaced by many,
only to confuse the issue.

I've hung up before,
needing more understanding
and I have been left hanging
as I am now...
The only good is that hanging
allows me to stretch this body,
lengthening the mind,
answering my own questions...
knowing everything
is left up to me.

Too true, Maureen.  It always and only is simply up to us.  Technology is no replacement for the real thing even if the real thing be less than perfect.
Watch your heart.

Some would probably say I have no heart..others..too much of one.
Thanks Helen.  This is a new year and I guess  with it comes change, once again.

Wishing you a happy and healthy new year.

Yes, m'dear, somedays we just have
to do it all ourselves.

Sometimes we sleep better for it, too.

Lots of understanding here...

so in the meantime?  Read on.
