I wrote this for my lovely friend after her mum passed away from ovarian cancer. I know it's not excellent but I thought it might as well be shown now.

She stares
through the rain fogged window
her thoughts far
from the spotlighted city
below.

memories
spin like a halo above her head
as she aches
for a stolen spirit.

She bled
hungry tears
screaming a name
barely audible to anyones ears
but mine.

I heard her
and from then I knew.

A spirit stolen
will be returned to her
In time.

*Love you lucy*

very beautiful words...and having lost my sister to cancer...I can tell you that is exactly how I felt and still let out those "silent screams" but mine are probably not heard or felt by anyone.

You are lucky to have one another~~

Nice work.

Lost my beloved Mum-in-law (a brit) to the same.

5 years later I still long for her wisdom and humor..

and she still hasn't visited my dreams..

so I scream silently at times as well.

So sorry for your loss and your friend's.  This is a beautiful caring tribute to your friend's mother.

Cheye~

What a lovely 'from the heart' penning for your friend ... and see how your words have reached out and touched others?

Thank you for being here~

and what a beautiful gift.

Your writing brings to mind
one who does not grace our pages enough.

This is lovely.

I am so glad and humbled to see others touched by my poems enough to share their own pain. *raising a toast*
to all who have loved and lost, and benefited anyway, however short a time we had together.
always in my heart pal. xxx
